The building located in Via Caldera 21 in the area San Siro in Milan, known until 2009 as the “Grand Hotel Brun”, was built at the beginning of the 80s. The existing building was transformed into a Sheraton Hotel by carrying out a “light refurbishment” in order to restore the building efficiency, from both an aesthetic and functional standpoint.
Before the project of the Hotel started, a survey was carried out on the building, to check the status of the structure and technical equipment. The refurbishment has consisted of internal and external work: layout revision, adaptation to health and safety standards and fire prevention, removal of architectural barriers. External work has also been undertaken such as plaster restoration as well as door and window replacement.
SCE Project was involved in the full service design (architectural, structural and MEP) for the concept, developed, technical and construction design phases and in the construction management.
